What I love about your company is that it's a family-owned business, it's locally owned and operated, and you guys are truly passionate about what you do. How long have you been in business?
Gene Kloke: 13 years in the business and six years at our new location at 7880 North Washington in Thornton, Colorado.
Chris Kane: And you've been... what were you doing before the 13 years in business?
Gene Kloke: I've been in sales and marketing pretty much all life. I worked for handicapped people for six or seven years and procured work with them and the most rewarding job.
Chris Kane: I would imagine that. Jerry, how long have you been doing this?
Jerry Cathcart: I've been in the industry for 21 years. I started my 21st year in June, this month.
Chris Kane: How did you guys decide to get in business together and start this 13 years ago?
Gene Kloke: He started out being a body tech and various things and I moved into a new position. There was a new company and I'm working out of my home and decided to go ahead. He called me and said, Let's start a body shop, and I said, Well, let's find out what it costs and we went from there.
Chris Kane: Excellent. I'm glad you guys did it because it is a fantastic shop. But why don't you tell our viewers about your distinguished award that you've got from the Better Business Bureau.
Gene Kloke: Yes, we worked with the Better Business Bureau since we open and it goes in three-year increments to where you grow up to the award we've got now. And then, we just received our 10-year Longevity Award from Better Business Bureau and it shows that we give customer service everyday.
Chris Kane: That?s great. Jerry, you really stayed on top of the current trends and technologies when it comes to your shop. Why don't you tell our viewers why that is so important?
Jerry Cathcart: We're manufacture-certified through numerous manufacturers and we work on all types of automobiles no matter the type of collision. We have everything from the state of the art welders all the way down to our frame machines. Everything is done by laser measurement all the way crossed, all the way down to the paint process.
Chris Kane: Now, being at your shop and you can see from some of the video that we've ran on our show... I mean it is really clean, really immaculate. It's top of the line, state of the art, but why don't you tell our viewers exactly what kind of work you do there?
Gene Kloke: When we get the customer?s car in, we do a total collision repair to make it back in the pre-accident condition and whether it's a small job or big job, it ends up getting our state of the art paint job that we just changed about nine months ago to waterborne paint. It's fabulous and the customers that we have always leave satisfied. And if they are not, then we make sure they're satisfied.
Chris Kane: And you mentioned the waterborne paint, Jerry, I want you to explain what that is and why it's such a high end product.
Jerry Cathcart: Based on technology they were using today, waterborne paint is the most state of the art product. It actually reduces the amount of toxins going into the air by about 75%. It is water-based versus the solvent-based paint. And the coat that goes over the top of it protects it from chipping, peeling, or discoloration of any type. It is by far the most superior product on the market right now.
Chris Kane: Is that the only kind of paint jobs you'll do? Will you do just the old kind of spray that are not water based for cars that are maybe old or people maybe that can't afford that high end or you only do that super high end?
Jerry Cathcart: Based on the products that we're using and the way that our facility is set up, it's based on the most high-tech product available. And based on using solvent-based paint, we just don't do that anymore. We give the lifetime guarantee for as long as people own the vehicle so we have to use the most state of the art product and facility.
Chris Kane: Okay, if someone is looking to sell their car, then it's probably not something that they want to do then.
Jerry Cathcart: Correct.
Gene Kloke: Unless they're planning on putting that type of money into it, it is more expensive product but it does give you a lot better finished product once it's all said and done.
Chris Kane: And you work with individuals, fleets... you also work with the insurance companies and government agencies. That says a lot about, putting their trust in you, just what kind of work do you do for them?
Gene Kloke: When anybody that comes in to have their vehicle repaired, whether it's an older car, newer car, we try to work with them and get their car repaired and get them back on the road as quickly as possible.
Chris Kane: And you work really on any kind of car?
Gene Kloke: Absolutely.
Chris Kane: It can be very old, it can be brand new, or it can be a beater car or it can be really a high, high end car.
Jerry Cathcart: Correct. We have the state of the art facility and we are able to work on any type of car, all the way from the low end to the high end like what you stated. The fleet vehicles, the state vehicles, anybody who wants to have their collision repair or any type of body repair completed whether it be hail, vandalism, or whatever the case maybe, we can do it all.
Chris Kane: And when a consumer brings their car in, you guys truly are full-service, so actually if they can't bring their car, then you can offer them towing service?
Gene Kloke: Absolutely.
Chris Kane: You have rental cars available too?
Gene Kloke: Yes.
Chris Kane: What else can you offer to the consumers?
Gene Kloke: If they have to have a repair and they can't get there to get an estimate, we will even send somebody out to do the estimate for them and we will even go out and pick their car up and work with them in any way we can to bring their car and get it back in pre-accident condition.
Chris Kane: Well, that's great. You guys truly are passionate about what you do, you guys have a great facility. We've had a lot of our guys go out there several times to see it and you can tell from the video footage we have.
